Privacy
Short version: there are no accounts and no forms. The site uses Google Analytics to measure visits, which sets cookies in your browser, and you can opt out.
What the site measures
The site uses Google Analytics 4, a service from Google, to understand which pages people read and how they found them. It reports page views, approximate location (such as country or city), device and browser type, the referring site and time on page.
Google Analytics sets first-party cookies in your browser, such as _ga, to tell one visit from another. They are set as soon as a page loads.
According to Google, IP addresses are not logged or stored in Google Analytics 4 (see Google's help page on IP masking). For visitors in the EU, Switzerland and the UK, Google says the IP address is used only to work out approximate location (see Google's help page on EU, Switzerland and UK data and privacy).

To opt out, install the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on, or block cookies in your browser settings.
The site is delivered through Cloudflare. As with any web host, Cloudflare handles your IP address and the details of your request to deliver pages and to protect the site from abuse.
Cookies after you click a link
Some links may lead to retailers and manufacturers through affiliate partners (see the affiliate disclosure). After you click one, the partner's site or its affiliate network may set cookies to credit a purchase. Those cookies belong to them and are covered by their own privacy policies. Tricks & Tips does not receive them.
Accounts and forms
There are no accounts, comments, newsletter sign-ups or contact forms. The site search runs in your browser against an index of the site's pages. Guide checklists keep your progress in your browser's local storage on your own device, and it is never sent to the site.
