Mac OS - how to change the login screen language

By Admin,

Do you need to change the language of the Mac OS login screen but don't know how? Follow these simple steps and get the right keyboard layout on the login screen.

If you only have one user on your Mac/MacBook, it's governed by that user's primary language selection. That is, whichever language is listed first in System Preferences -> Language & Region. A reboot is required if any changes are made.

However, if you have multiple accounts, you need to know that you need to start the command line (Terminal.app) and enter:

sudo languagesetup

Then just select the language (English is number 1). You can close Terminal.app and again a restart is required.
